The conclusion of the first semi final of Liverpool 2023 provided us with our long-awaited first 10 qualifiers for Saturday’s Grand Final!

The 10 countries that qualified from Semi 1 were:

  • ๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ท Croatia | Let 3 – Mama ล ฤŒ!
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Moldova | Pasha Parfeni – Soarele ลŸi Luna 
  • ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญ Switzerland | Remo Forrer – Watergun
  • ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Finland | Kรครคrijรค – Cha Cha Cha
  • ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Czechia | Vesna – My Sister’s Crown
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Israel | Noa Kirel – Unicorn
  • ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น Portugal | Mimicat – Ai Coraรงรฃo
  • ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช Sweden | Loreen – Tattoo
  • ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡ธ Serbia | Luke Black – Samo Mi Se Spava
  • ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ด Norway | Alessandra  – Queen of Kings 

This meant that the following five countries will not be performing again on Saturday night:

  • ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡น Malta | The Busker – Dance (Our Own Party)
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ป Latvia | Sudden Lights – Aijฤ
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Ireland | Wild Youth – We Are One
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Azerbaijan | TuralTuranX – Tell Me More
  • ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Netherlands | Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper – Burning Daylight

This was the first time since Helsinki 2007 that the Semi Final qualifiers have been decided entirely by televote alone. It’ll be interesting to see the breakdown of these results when they are released on Sunday morning.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 continues on Thursday night at 8pm on BBC One.
