The conclusion of the first semi final of Liverpool 2023 provided us with our long-awaited first 10 qualifiers for Saturdayโ€™s Grand Final!

The 10 countries that qualified from Semi 1 were:

  • ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฉ Moldova | Pasha Parfeni โ€“ Soarele ลŸi Luna 
  • ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญ Switzerland | Remo Forrer โ€“ Watergun
  • ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Finland | Kรครคrijรค โ€“ Cha Cha Cha
  • ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Czechia | Vesna โ€“ My Sisterโ€™s Crown
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Israel | Noa Kirel โ€“ Unicorn
  • ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡น Portugal | Mimicat โ€“ Ai Coraรงรฃo

This meant that the following five countries will not be performing again on Saturday night:

  • ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ป Latvia | Sudden Lights โ€“ Aijฤ
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช Ireland | Wild Youth โ€“ We Are One
  • ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฟ Azerbaijan | TuralTuranX โ€“ Tell Me More
  • ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Netherlands | Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper โ€“ Burning Daylight

This was the first time since Helsinki 2007 that the Semi Final qualifiers have been decided entirely by televote alone. Itโ€™ll be interesting to see the breakdown of these results when they are released on Sunday morning.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 continues on Thursday night at 8pm on BBC One.
