Iru Khechanovi, now going by the mononym, Iru, has released her Eurovision 2023 entry Echo, which will represent Georgia in Liverpool, completing the Eurovision 2023 roster of songs…
Iru Khechanovi is a familiar name to the Eurovision world, as, at the age of 11, she won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011 for Georgia, as part of the group, Candy, with their song Candy Music. In the year’s since, she’s competing on Georgia’s adaptation of Pop Idol and gone onto have a successful solo career as an adult. However, Echo reunites Iru with George Kukhianidze, also known as Giga Kukhiadnidze, who wrote Candy Music, as well as Georgia’s other two Junior Eurovision winners, as he’s composed Echo, alongside Iru, herself, and Beni Kadagidze, making his debut in the adult contest too.
