Confirmed! Una Voce Per San Marino 2023 is Happening

Despite San Marino’s failure to qualify in last night’s Semi Final, it has now been confirmed that their debuting selection method this year is to return in 2023.

Achille Lauro’s Stripper was selected during an ambitious national final (in fact the biggest in the whole contest) to select San Marino Eurovision 2022 entry. The national final featured a total of 75 songs and artists competing, with 18 making it through to the final, which was hosted by Senhit and Jonathan Kashanian from Dogana, San Marino. Despite fan favourite, Elis Mraz (who came 2nd in the Czech Selection) and renowned artists such as Burak Yeter, Tony Cicco and, even 80s pop legend, Spagna competing, it was Sanremo veteran Achille Lauro who won over the judging panel.

Usually when a song performs badly at Eurovision, countries are inclined to change their national selection, but this doesn’t seem to be the case as Pedini Amati, the Secretary of State for San Marino, has confirmed that Una Voce Per San Marino will be making a return in 2023.

We’ll be looking forward to seeing what pop legends San Marino manages to dust off this year, and which familiar faces from other countries might be making an appearance… perhaps someone from the American Song Contest?
