American Song Contest star, ENISA, who represented New York in 2022, has revealed that she was selected by MRT to represent Montenegro in Liverpool, next year, before their withdrawal.
Montenegro announced their withdrawal from the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 on 13 October 2022, but less than 24 hours, it has been revealed by ENISA that she had been selected to fly the flag for the country in Liverpool, but the broadcaster were unable to fund the expense.
ENISA herself is an American-Albanian, who’s parents originated from Montenegro, and she represented New York in the American Song Contest 2022 making it to the Semi Finals, through the TikTok Wild Card. She came 9th in the jury for her Semi Final, with the public vote left secret by NBC.
Had MRT been able to afford the cost of participation and travel expenses from the USA to Montenegro and then to the United Kingdom, as well as accommodation and everything else that would need to be considered, then Green Light is a good idea of what Montenegro may have sent to Liverpool.
It’s been rumoured that ENISA may enter the song she had lined up for Montenegro to Festivali I Këngës for Albania, but even if she has decided to do this, she won’t be at liberty to say until RTSH announces the participants in the coming weeks.
I was already about to state that no artist from the ASC save from the winner should be touched even with a hundred meter long stick, but this song actually has some promise. Let this be one more proof that on Eurovision it’s better to try and fail than not try at all; you never know, you might accidentally hit the jackpot.
Why does participation in ESC have to be so costly?
