San Marino’s Achille Lauro has released an Official Music Video for his Eurovision entry, Stripper.
Unlike nearly every other country, San Marino decided not to release a music video for their entry this year, instead opting to use the National Final performance, from Una Voce per San Marino, throughout the run up to the contest.
So it’s quite surprising that Achille Lauro, on his own YouTube channel, has now released an official video for Stripper, the day after it fell at the first hurdle, and was knocked out of the competition. We expect this may have been because Achille assumed he would qualify, and thought that releasing his official video the day before the Grand Final made sense, but as far as Eurovision precedent goes, this is a very unusual tactic. Surely, it would’ve been better to release this video during the run-up to the contest, like most other countries do, in order to help promote the song?
The video itself takes what Achille delivered on stage in the second Semi Final and runs with it, amplifying it further and further. Production wise, it looks great, and perhaps the most expensive a music video from San Marino has looked. Just like the live performance, it’s very entertaining.
