At the Head of Delegations Meeting, today, in Liverpool, the draw for the running order positions for Ukraine and the United Kingdom took place.
Martin Österdahl, the Executive Supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, conducted the draw, which is usually reserved for deciding only the host country’s position in the running order. However, since the United Kingdom is hosting the event on behalf of Ukraine, both countries drew their positions during the meeting.
The draw for the United Kingdom’s place was undertaken by Ukrainian Head of Delegation, Oksana Skybinska, while Ukraine’s place was drawn by British Head of Delegation, Adam Wydrzynski.
Ukraine and the United Kingdom will perform in the 19th and 26th positions, respectively, during the final on May 13, 2023. These positions could significantly impact the countries’ chances of winning the competition since the order of performances can influence the audience’s voting behaviour.
Once all the finalists have been allocated to either the first or second half of the running order, the final running order will be decided by the producers. It is an essential aspect of the competition that requires careful consideration, as the running order can significantly impact a country’s chances of winning.
The running order of the Semi Finals will likely be announced toward the end of the month, in accordance with previous years.
